For the last three and a half hours, Curt has been attempting to beat my score on the third level of Defense Grid: The Awakening, and he has been unable to do it.
BAHAHAH!
And WTH, Kurt. You have a blog! ;)

My younger brother threw a family kabob luncheon, and it was yummy. My Sim achieved her life goal of becoming an astronaut; she now works 1 day per week and on that day, she makes $7,000. The rest of the week she spends fishing and gardening. I am officially jealous of my Sim.
I get to keep Blinky, the boy kitten! I have traded him as an indoor cat for my previous dog option upon owning a home. Yay! :)
Not that the states of being bored and being at work ever coincide…
Tomorrow, I bring the almighty Oregon Trail into the office for some good time pioneer fun.
Yahoo News – Deaths of gamers leave their online lives in limbo by AP: Yahoo Tech.
Not that I play WoW anymore, but if I were to die, I have left instructions with Curt to post my death on this blog. In which case it would be up to either Dodds or Kurt to notify my old online friends, at which point I would expect the entire guild to mount an expedition to kill the Lich King and take the epic – no, not just epic! LEGENDARY – lootz to the Sunken Temple, the place of my eternal rest.
I guess my siblings would tell you all that I were dead as well. You can never tell with them. Wretched PVPers…
This is someone else’s video of X2. I actually went on this ride. Of course, this video was the first time I saw what was happening to me since I shut my eyes at about the 1:10 point and didn’t open them again until I knew for sure I wasn’t going to die.
Of course, Paula and Curt had a great time on all the scary rides, and I looked very much forward to my obligatory amusement park churro. It was a great time, though! Next time I have been promised a churro + stunt show. That’s my speed, baby. ;)

Curt brought me flowers today, too. :) Besides being sweet, it gave me the chance to continue practicing with the macro lens my dad gave me a few weeks ago. Whee!

Did you know today was

Curt loves me, and therefore I will not write my angry rant about Microsoft, or the state of the world. With a few balloons and colorful crepe streamers, my husband has single-handedly vanquished the world’s iniquities (as they exist within our tiny little demesne). Today I will not complain.
Happy evening, all! :)
Not as scary as Fatal Frame II, but um, still darn startling. I would totally die in a zombie attack. I mean, seriously. There’s no way. In real life, I could not be bandaged by someone and get back to full functionality. In real life, I can’t set the game to Normal, or Easy. In real life, I’ve never fired a gun, and even if I could, I would probably be a worse shot than I am in the game.
Also, in real life, if there were zombies running around and leaping from buildings and swarming me, I would probably be terrified and therefore useless. I’d like to fantasize that I’d be all gung-ho and suddenly come alive, but no. No. I would just die.
Let me just say now, while the impending zombie menace has not yet reached our shores: it would suck to die in a zombie attack. I would opt out, thanks.

I might start playing WoW again, and it’s all Fable II’s fault.
Well, actually it’s Curt’s fault. We only have one XBox 360, only one Fable II game. Therefore, only one of us can be playing Fable II at any one time. Leaving the other one to find something else to do, while they are not hanging around and whimpering for playtime. At first, I thought my old Neverwinter Nights expansions would do it (I never finished them), but I found the interface clumsy and sterile, not as interactive as WoW, or Fable II. Also, I missed trade skills. I like making stuff. (As Curt puts it, I have the peculiar need to do work in games.)
So, yesterday I re-installed the game and downloaded patches. Today, hopefully, if the patches finish anytime soon, I’ll log on, make a new character (abandoning the Horde for the Alliance, since I figure playing the faction least familiar to me will make the game more enjoyable), and bide my time while my husband kicks chickens and cultivates that lovely pair of horns on his blue face. Or maybe I will bring back Dez. I do enjoy her so…
But, you know, I can always stop whenever I feel like it.
:)

The number is still taking a general downward trend, and I’m pretty proud of myself for staying motivated. It helps to weigh myself everyday, since Wii Fit tracks semi-pounds so I can see what works and what doesn’t. Plus, I’ve made sure to adjust my diet so I’m not eating food that’s terrible for me, but I’m not dieting in a way unsustainable in the long run. I’m excited! I’m looking forward to that line dipping down over the next few months. WhoO!
PLUS, this morning I unlocked Wii Woodchopping, which integrates exercise, money, and gaming all at once! READY!?
1. Start Wii Fit. Choose the prolonged Step Exercise. The Wii-mote counts out your steps, even when you aren’t looking at the game on screen.
2. Start Fable 2 and go to work Woodchopping. (*I dressed my character, Dumpling, in hot pants and a corset, since woodchopping is hard work, and that way the villagers all love me while I chop.)
3. STEP AND CHOP! STEP AND CHOP!
Et VOILA: money, exercise, multi-tasking! Curt loved my idea so much, all he could do was cover his face and quiver all over with the brilliance of his amazing wife. BAHAHH!

Nike, you wretched wench, we had a deal!
Well, the rest of the birthday was lovely, anyway! We went out to eat at Anchos, and I got some presents. This year, it was a modest birthday, in keeping with the modest economy. Here’s my birthday loots list:
1. A muffin pan, to replace the muffin pan I burnt into non-functionality
2. A pizza pan, so I can make yummy, healthy, cheese-less pizzas
3. A pair of $6.00 sunglasses, so I don’t crash into other cars while driving in the afternoon
4. A car air freshener, to replace the melted candle I thought would be a sufficient substitute
5. A cordless Logitech mouse on clearance for $7.00
6. Tracing paper
7. An exercise ball
8. Weights
9. A chess board
10. A book on current affairs / politics, which grow infinitely more interesting the older I get
11. Some books on writing fiction
12. A book on drawing cartoons
I also got a lovely bowling outing (see the last post), and happy well-wishes, which are much appreciated. :)
A strange, but fun note upon my exit: a few weeks ago, I got an email from a nice lady at Schmaps, some new-fangled online map guide, saying they were short-listing a photo I took of Glasgow Cathedral for their map of Glasgow, and was it okay if they used my picture, maybe? I said yes, and today I got a little thank you note, and a link to the site where my tiny little photo is, in all it’s glory.
So, yes, it’s official, I’m now totally famous.
Here’s to another 29 years! /wave
